Wildlife Trafficking Alliance, USA

AZA’s Wildlife Trafficking Alliance (WTA) is a coalition of more than seventy companies, nonprofits, and AZA zoos and aquariums that are all working together to combat wildlife trafficking around the world. The WTA works to reduce, and eventually eliminate, the illegal trade of wildlife and wildlife products by raising public awareness, reducing consumer demand, and mobilizing companies in key sectors to adopt best practices to stop wildlife trafficking.

In 2017, the Wildlife Trafficking Alliance (WTA) and its partners, developed a communications toolkit for travel companies to communicate with their audiences about the issue of wildlife trafficking and steps travelers can take to avoid making purchasing decisions that negatively impact endangered and threatened wildlife populations. WTA is seeking partners to share its content with a wider audience.
