Global Travel and Tourism Partnership, Kenya

Our mission is to inspire and enable young people to build careers in Travel and Tourism. To date, more than 2 million students have participated in GTTP,programs around the world. We do this by offering a Tourism curriculum called ‘Passport to the World’ that teaches the fundamentals of Travel, Tourism and Hospitality to secondary students who would otherwise not learn about travel and tourism. We have been in operation since 1995 and are currently in America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

In Africa, we are in Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. We intend to enrol other countries to adopt the program. Our program helps students make informed career choices and give them exposure to travel and tourism whilst they are still in high school. We engage both local industry partners and have global partners who are leaders in travel and tourism.

Our expertise is in working with the youth and mentoring them in career choices of travel and tourism. We would like to have more African countries have students from their countries join and support the program.

The Global Travel and Tourism Partnership program inspires and enables young people to build careers in Travel and Tourism. Tourism is the main economic driver in many countries tries especially African ones, yet the youth do not have information on the numerous career opportunities in the sector. Our objectives are to expand the GTTP program in Africa and make the youth see the opportunities in the sector, and together with partners, make them work-ready.

The African Tourism Board is the ideal platform because of the prestige, expertise and professionalism of the Board. I would like to be part of this organisation of influencers and opinion shapers on Travel and Tourism and to play my part in getting youth positively engaged in the sector.
