APOLINARY PIUS TAIRO is a Senior Journalist and Editor with 25 years experience in Journalism in Tanzania and East Africa. He is a trained Journalist,  specialized on Tourism Reporting, Travel Trade focusing at Hotels, Lodges, Ground Tour handling, Airline Industry and Tourism Publicity through local and international media outlets.

He had travelled widely in Tanzania and East Africa for Tourism development and Wildlife Conservation media programmes. He is working closely with Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) on Media and Marketing projects. Had visited leading Wildlife Parks in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda; also the Zanzibar Island.

Has written and covered several tourism and travel news in Tanzania and East Africa. He is currently writing for The EastAfrican weekly, a regional newspaper owned and published by Nation Media Group in Nairobi, Kenya, as a Regional Media covering the six East African Community (EAC) member states of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan.

Has also participated and covered International, Regional and National Tourism and Travel Exhibitions; among them, the ITB Berlin, INDABA (Durban), KARIBU Travel and Tourism Fair (Tanzania), KILIFAIR (Tanzania), among other events.

Mr. Tairo had participated and planned media platforms to various International Tourism Conferences, among them, the Africa Travel Association (ATA) in Africa, IIPT (Africa), Travellers Philanthropy Conference (Tanzania) among other such Travel and Tourism interactive gatherings.

Among other media coverage he had carried were the Local, Regional and International Airlines operating in East Africa and Africa, new Tourist Services launched in Africa such as Balloon Safaris in Tanzania and Rovos Rail of South Africa.

Studied News Agency Journalism in Tanzania, Germany and the United Kingdom, in addition to rural reporting course in Botswana.

With great passion to market Africa as an upcoming, global tourist destination, Mr. Tairo is currently studying the African History basing on its rich history and diversified cultures including the rich African Music. The other area is Africa’s rich and unique wildlife mostly Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Black Rhinos, Lions, Elephants, among others.
