AHCNECS, Jamaica

My objectives are:
1. Offer community-based social services to the residents of Montego Bay and surrounding areas
2. Use community tourism as a tool to sensitize the world about the reality of dementia and its impact on society
3. Teach persons how to take care of persons living with dementia and other health conditions.

I would like to join the African Tourism Board because I believe the time has come for the diaspora to return “home” in terms of paying visits to African countries, educating persons on their history and how tourism influenced migration of the African people, and also I believe that as a Board member, I could be instrumental in facilitating the utilization of community tourism for the improved quality of life of our baby boomers–many of whom are living with dementia. Nevertheless, these baby boomers have disposable income, and they wish to take vacations like everyone else. However, the infrastructures are not in place to accommodate them. I believe I can help to make a difference.

Anytime Home Care ‘N’ Educational Consulting Service (AHCNECS) is an educational institution offering courses geared towards assisting the elderly (baby boomers) and the disabled, along with after-school programmes such as CXC English and Human & Social Biology. AHCNECS also provides the following services to residents and clients locally and overseas through our trained nursing assistants:
Respite care
Hospital-to-home transitional services
Live-in care-giving
Companionship
Transportation
Medication management
Meal preparation
Light housekeeping
Personal support such as bathing, feeding, etc.
